Red Queen Wig 2.1

I’ve finally got all of the curlers in my new wig!

It took longer than I expected for a couple reasons – there’s just more hair on this wig than the wigs I used before, and due to the length of the hair I had to go slowly, and brush it often to keep it from tangling, and my cat Tribble wanted to help.

I continued sectioning the hair using the wefts as a guideline. I tried to grab three wefts worth at a time, about an inch wide.

I ended up using 57 curlers – the front ones are various sizes (as shown in my previous post), and the majority are the same type of soft foam curlers about 1.25” in diameter.

It was a bit more fiddly than the first time, but I’m in love with the quality and colour of my wig so I’m not too bothered. Before I bust out my clothes steamer, I’m going to try the wig on and size it now that all of the hair is up in curlers and I can actually see what I’m doing.

This means putting my hair in pin curls, since that’s how I’ll be wearing my hair under my new wigs. I haven’t tried pin curls in a few years, so it my not be pretty.

Any tips for comfy, flat, pin curls?
